From Bedford Who:
BEDFORD WHO CHARITY CON 6 CAN'T NOW TAKE PLACE ON SATURDAY 4th APRIL. IT'S BEING POSTPONED UNTIL A LATER DATE.
We're very, very sorry to have to announce this. Unfortunately, there's absolutely no way round it. We're intending to reschedule the convention to the autumn.
As you may have seen on the news, the government has just announced a U-turn and they will, after all, be banning gatherings. Even if our convention is too small to qualify under the ban, there's little doubt that public confidence in attending events has already ebbed enormously. In any case, a future amendment to the ban may well cover us as well. We've also had to take into account that the venue itself may not now be able to allow us in. With the best will in the world, we just can't make it work. The situation with the Coronavirus outbreak changes daily. It's ironic that our reading of the situation earlier this week was that we'd be going ahead; we've had to revise our wrong assessment in the light of new developments. Apologies for this, too.
