I don't generally editorialize but I'm going to do a bit since this has been a difficult few days due to a distorted and misleading tabloid article from The Telegraph which took Peter's words out of context, deliberately omitting the positive and supportive things which he did say, and then spread it like a virus via internet ripples. I am glad to see there are an increasing number of fans who are posting the transcript and/or video link which have Peter's actual words. As far as I'm concerned The Telegraph owes Peter (1) a retraction, also spread to all the sites which republish their articles, and (2) a very public apology. Not holding my breath. (*Just sent a letter to them, which is why I'm running a tad late today!)
Peter Davison has consistently been totally kind and respectful in sharing his own journey through this regeneration, moving from doubts to acceptance to confidence and full support. Every interview and panel done at SDCC is absolutely consistent in showing this. If Who's philosophy is based on kindness and tolerance, then it's time for the fanbase to put that into practice, whether in person or online and stop the troll bashing and bullying of anyone who might share a different opinion... including Peter D.
